Since the creation of SOS Refugiados our main objective has been to send humanitarian aid and distribute it on the ground. We are currently in the fourth great collection campaign. We send supplies from Spain to supply the warehouse of RED SOS REFUGIADOS and to cover the basic needs of the families. All the logistical deployment that this implies is only possible because of the work and effort of thousands of anonymous people who organize campaigns in their cities to collect material. Encourage yourself and organize your own collection in your city, school or association.
The SEUR Foundation collaborates with us by carrying out most of the transport from any point in Spain to the port of Valencia free of charge.
From Valencia to the Port of Piraeus and from there to the warehouse, we pay the costs proportionally between all of the groups.

After the ‘Lesbos’ and ‘SEUR-Athens’ Campaigns, RED SOS REFUGIADOS maintains a constant frequency of shipments with the aim of maintaining the regular provision of basic necessity supplies for the Athens camps and surrounding refugee camps, as well as for the squats or refugee reception centres in the Greek capital attended by volunteers, the majority of whom are Spanish.
Lately we have focused on sending non-perishable food, baby food, hygienic-sanitary material and small household items. We also include other supplies that the volunteers in Athens reclaim from us for the refugee camps.
You can consult these INSTRUCTIONS to see how the collection is prepared.

Meanwhile for the rest of the #refugeesgr in #Moria, the lock-down continues - with no schooling, poor medical treatment, a severe lack of information on what’s next and daily insecurity. Yesterday a fire broke out in olive grove, heat wave exacerbates also medical problems. /5

At the same time families and friends left behind in #Moria report that those, who commuted to mainland in the last month want to get back to #Lesvos, since they see no perspective other than homelessness or being stuck in another camp with nowhere to go. /4
